Froedert Health and Medical College of Wisconsin Community Physicians
In February 2013, to further integrate the health networks clinical enterprise, a joint clinical practice group was formed linking Froedtert Health and MCW. Froedtert and the Medical College Community Physicians (CP) was formed by the integration of: Froedtert Health Medical Group (primary and specialty physicians) of Froedtert Health and the MCW Clinical Ventures Group (a predominately-primary care venture with an academic emphasis).
Primary and specialty care is now provided at 49 health centers and clinics across southeastern Wisconsin through CP. The Medical Group is comprised of more than 400 community-based providers including 170 primary care providers with a focus on patient centered care. It has grown to $192M in net patient service revenues. The Medical Group has provided a connection to MCW and the Froedtert Hospital academic campus bringing academic medicine into the community. CP provides care throughout the Health Network, with the majority of providers practicing primary care defined as family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and medicine-pediatrics. All practices are on EPIC clinical EMR platform, which has been essential to the development and more importantly the monitoring of system-wide quality measures. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has 40 faculty and 18 APPs who provide care in maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology, urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery, general OBGYN, and subspecialty gynecologic services such as pediatric and adolescent care, family planning, transgender care, and minimally invasive surgery, in addition to mental health and genetic services (). MCW is a private, health sciences university dedicated to leadership and excellence in academic medicine. MCW is the largest private research institution in Wisconsin with $300 million in grant awards for research, teaching, training, and related purposes. MCW is the seventh largest private employer in the metro-Milwaukee area and MCW has approximately 6,766 faculty and staff. Approximately 5,385 faculty and staff work on the beautiful campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MRMC) which also houses Froedtert Hospital, Childrens Hospital and Health System, Curative Care, and Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin.
Froedtert Health combines with the Medical College of Wisconsin to form the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health care network made up of Froedtert, Froedtert Menomonee Falls, and Froedtert West Bend Hospitals and more than 30 primary and specialty care health centers and clinics and 1600+ physicians.
