Materials Coordinator Weekend Shift

The Equipment Supply Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the ordering, maintenance, and replacement of all Emergency Department equipment and supplies in collaboration with Materials Management and SPD. Flexes as needed to assists with providing patient care as an Emergency Department Technician under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Maintains inventory of all specialty equipment and trauma bay stock.
Acts as a department liaison between Materials Management, BioMed, Engineering, Sterile Processing Department, Print Shop, and the Emergency Department.
Communicates and coordinates with ED leadership, physicians, residency program leaders, and specialty services who require specialized equipment to be available in the ED. 
Identifies and communicates the Emergency Department’s capital equipment replacement needs to Patient Care Director
Assists the Patient Care Director with justification of the department’s monthly operation budget vs. Identifies and communicates opportunities for cost reduction through process improvement. Maintains and orders appropriate inventory of department forms, medical & office supplies, and new or equipment.
Problem-solves within the Emergency Department in matters related to the activities and operations of the department.
Facilitates ongoing maintenance and repair of equipment and department proper.
Functions as an Emergency Department Technician as needed
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Emergency Department, Storeroom, Purchasing, Sterile Processing Division preferred. Knowledge of inventory control and budgeting process required. Medical terminology required.
WORK SHIFT:
Full time days, as scheduled. Weekend and holiday requirements. Shift rotation may be required to meet staffing needs.
