Job Type: Contract

Job Duties:
* Assist with general lab duties which include but are not limited to: preparation of sterile growth medium, stock solutions, and reagents, as well as general lab cleaning and dishwashing.
* Perform aseptic sampling of manufacturing process.
* Perform direct microscopy and plating while adhering to clean room protocols
* Prepare, inoculate, manage shake flasks using aseptic technique.
* Prepare samples for analysis and analyze samples using a variety of analytical instruments such as a microscope and spectrophotometer.
* Enter process and analytical data into Microsoft Excel.
* Provide experiment coverage, as needed, on evenings and, occasionally, weekends.
* Participate in safety initiatives within the organization.

Job Requirements:
* 4-year college degree in a science field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, or related field.
* Experience in the set-up and operation of lab-scale bioreactors.
* Lab experience in sterilization or preparing reagents.
* Candidate should be flexible to start in August.

Schedule:
* Mon-Fri
* 8 AM to 5 PM or 7.30 to 40.30 - CST
* Day shift during training period
* Schedule will then be noon to midnight on alternating 2-week schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday on week 1, then Wednesday and Thursday week 2.
