Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Assist in restoring and improving independent function for patients with compromised living conditions.
Conduct accurate and comprehensive patient evaluations.
Develop effective treatment plans and obtain necessary approvals from referring physicians.
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and/or Aides in patient care and related activities.
Communicate progress, challenges, and plans with the supervisor and healthcare team.
Instruct patients' families or nursing staff on follow-through programs.
Interview patients and families to gather information about their previous and current levels of functioning.
Demonstrate knowledge of resources for problem-solving and clinical best practices.
Assess, train, and provide necessary adaptive equipment for activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote patient independence.
Maintain accurate and clear documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting requirements.
Manage Medicare Medical Review and Denials process in collaboration with the Director of Rehabilitation and therapy staff.
Embrace an interdisciplinary approach to patient care by integrating input from team members, patients, and families.
Participate in rehab team conferences, patient care conferences, and training sessions.
Collaborate with facility staff to inform them of patient progress.
Educate team members in areas of expertise and assist in teaching documentation practices.
Contribute to your professional development through continuing education, peer interactions, presentations, and staying updated on clinical advancements.
Foster a positive facility culture by consistently demonstrating professionalism, positive values, and superior customer service.
Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and addressing safety hazards, organizing work areas, and ensuring equipment is in proper working order.
Utilize proper body mechanics during patient treatments and support activities.
Adhere to universal safety precautions and wear appropriate protective equipment.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an approved curriculum Occupational Therapy
Is able to practice unemcumbered
Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources
Full knowledge or resident rights
Exudes professionalism in presentation
Ability to multitask
Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in the English language
CPR Certification
