Chinese Language Scholar

This program provides a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience in Foreign Language opportunities around the agency and an annual salary. Selected participants will also receive up to $30,000 for tuition and mandatory educational fees per academic year. Eligible students that is traveling over 75 miles from school to NSA, will receive housing and travel benefits while working at NSA during the summer.
A position in the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program-Language means you will attend classes full-time at the college of your choice in the U.and then work during the summer at NSA for a minimum of 12 weeks in areas that are related to your course of study (Chinese Language). While the eligibility requirements for our Stokes Program-Language are subject to change from year to year, below you will find our basic prerequisites. Please Note: If you have a full scholarship for college, you are ineligible to apply for the Stokes Program.
High School Seniors (planning to study Chinese Language in college):

-\tDemonstrated aptitude in learning foreign language(s) High school Transcripts must reflect a minimum of 3 years of coursework in a world language.
-\tIf available, students may also submit evidence of achieving Seal of Biliteracy as set by the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) or results from ACTFL, National Examination for World Language (NEWL), or other relevant language examinations. If you are selected as a program participant, you are required to work in a foreign language program majoring in Chinese at NSA after college graduation for at least one-and-a-half times your length of study. Also, students accepted into the program must maintain at least a 2.
