The State of Connecticut , Department of Children and Families (DCF) is currently recruiting a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at the Albert J. Solnit Childrens Center Hospital , located in Middletown, CT.
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Second (2nd) shift
Positions through this posting are permanent positions with temporary assignments. Permanent assignments will be completed at a later date after the agency transfer list has been cleared. You may be assigned any unit and work schedule/shift.
Current DCF permanent employees in the classification of Licensed Practical Nurse should not apply.
Permanent DCF employees in the classification of Licensed Practical Nurse transfers will be handled through the DCF Lateral Transfer Agreement. .

In a state facility this class is accountable for rendering bedside care or mental health services to individuals with physical disabilities and/or an intellectual disability in instances where the services of a registered nurse are not required.
Assists doctors and nurses in the general care and treatment of individuals;
Documents medications using appropriate forms;
Performs simple nursing treatments;
Keeps the unit safe and healthy;
Performs Foley catheterization care;
May perform emergency first aid;

License or temporary permit to practice nursing in Connecticut by the State Board of Examiners for Nursing.
DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES: Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operators license, Public Passenger Endorsement or Commercial Drivers license for designated positions.
