Department: GI Lab
Shift/Schedule: Full Time Days| 4/10's 7-1730 or 7:30 to1800 10 hour shifts, 4 days per week with off day to be determined after orientation. Call after training is completed is required which is 7 to 14 days within a 6 week scheduling period.
Provide professional nursing care for the GI patient
Maintain professional relationships with staff and physicians
Provide safe and effective care of the post-anesthesia patient and teach discharge instructions

As a Procedural Registered Nurse, you will work as a licensed professional and use the nursing practice model to oversee patient care by the healthcare team. Your responsibilities will involve assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses for health issues, and developing personalized care plans. Your contributions will help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the healthcare system. Delegating tasks to other staff will be based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
You'll also create and adjust care plans for better results.
You will assess your nursing practices to ensure quality and effectiveness. This may involve tracking indicators, making changes based on research, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
You'll help teach patients and staff. Education will be integrated into care at all levels.
In systems thinking, you will use strategies and resources to solve problems for patients, families, and staff.
Finally, your professionalism enhances nursing practice and work environment. Having an in-depth understanding of nursing as well as patient care standards and procedures is crucial.
Understanding legal, regulatory, and professional standards, as well as certification and accreditation requirements, is important in every profession. Familiarity with departmental policies is also vital.
It is necessary to monitor patients' health and communicate changes efficiently to nursing staff and healthcare providers.
Lastly, giving top-notch, patient-centered care that honors patient diversity is essential. It involves using the nursing process and following nursing standards.
