The Patient Care Services Manager serves as the hospital lead for managing daily patient throughput. The primary goals of this position are to improve hospital throughput; monitor appropriate utilization for all levels of care; monitor and reduce LOS/avoidable hospital days; Directs and oversees the process that ensures delivery of patient care in accordance with established hospital, State, Federal and Joint Commission, ANA policies, procedures, regulations, ethics, and standards.
THE RN PATIENT NAVIGATOR CLINICAL OBS PART TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Serves as the primary hospital throughput Leader for inpatient beds and patient flow, identifying and remedying delays within various patient care services departments (e.g., Monitors daily patient discharge disposition for immediate entry into PBAR and reconciling to Case Managers final patient disposition for accuracy.
Uses bed tracking technology, rounding and communications with staff to maintain an understanding of house-wide bed supply and demand.
Assures patient discharges entered immediately into PBAR. Emergency Department, External Transfer, and Direct Admissions) and inpatient floors to plan for daily scheduled and unscheduled bed demand.
Triages observation admissions to ensure appropriate use of inpatient and flexible care areas.
Assures no admit holding in the ED and patients are admitted to the units and entered into PBAR prior to Midnight.
Maintains continuous communication with the Nursing Supervisors. Works with Nursing Supervisors to assure the teletracking system is updated timely and consistently.
Assesses quality of patient care practices and care through data and provides feedback to
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, related field or equivalent competencies/job experience
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Case Management, Finance or related field.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in nursing leadership, hospital operations, case management, Finance or related field, clinical related specialty; one year supervisory or management experience, working knowledge of Quality Improvement process and Joint Commission standards.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required.
