Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
Issue adaptive equipment and customized splints, as deemed necessary.
Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; Documents patient care services via EMR charting using 'defensible documentation' in a timely and concise manner, in compliance with industry standards.

This includes seeking opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills and utilizing these newly acquired skills in the provision of care and for growth and development of the department and hospital.

Advocates for the occupational therapy profession.
School-based occupational therapists (in addition to above expectations): Collaborate with the school-based team to help determine and carryout Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); Home health physical therapists (in addition to above expectations): Provide in-home occupational therapy services to homebound patients and work in collaboration with the home health interdisciplinary team.
Organization Wide Performance Expectations:
Upholds regulatory requirements to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state and federal regulations and policies.
Follows all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff.
Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.
Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
Must complete employee health meeting
Active Colorado Occupational Therapy License (DORA) or valid compact license
Current CPR(BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire per MRH Policy)
Valid Driver's License (Home Health only)
