*Date Posted:* 2024-08-27*Country:* United States of America*Location:* HMN01: S&IS (Sensors) - Burnsville 14300 Judicial Rd, Burnsville, MN, 55306 USA*Position Role Type:* OnsiteThis position is for a Quality Inspection Test Technician IV who works under minimal supervision. Will be responsible for running and programming a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM). Candidates will analyze models, drawings, and design data of parts and then create and perform standard work instructions to guide the operational steps of the CMM.
- What You Will Do:*
- Program, set up, and operate a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and read and interpret CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications including GD&T
- Optimize inspection methods (e.g., precision & accuracy vs. speed) and work within the quality management system and safety standards
- Train colleagues/technicians/inspectors, support general CMM activities
- Compile and analyze measurement data, trends, and statistics to assess measurement methods, process capability, repeatability, and reproducibility and use basic math problem-solving skills and identify and report non-conformances of products or processes and provide support for Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations
- Utilize the CMM to qualify the program and ensure parts dimensionally conform and report non-conformances
- Follow Quality Procedures for various functions to ensure compliance with part dimensions on the CMM before acceptance
- Select CMM measurement strategies and techniques to maximize repeatability and reproducibility of dimensional parameters
- CMM freeform: Be able to perform First Article Inspection and a quick CMM inspection per engineer requests
- CMM machine maintenance (Calibrate probe tips, ensure CMM machines function accurately, etc.)
- 1st shift hours will be Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm CST.
- Qualifications You Must Have:*
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T symbols and dimensional tolerances on drawings
- Experience and proficiency in the programming of CMMs (without CAD), preferably utilizing Hexagon PC-DMIS software
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

- Qualifications We Prefer:*
- 2-year technical degree.
- 6 years of experience as a CMM Programmer.
- Brown & Sharpe / Hexagon CMM programming experience.
- GD&T certification ASME Y14.5, 2009 and 2018.
- Capable of using all required trade tools, (i.e. optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, surface profilometer, gauge blocks, pin gauge, height gages, ring gages, go/no go gages, check fixtures, etc.) to inspect parts for accuracy.
- Experience in product development, manufacturing, or inspection within an AS9100-certified aerospace company.
- Familiarity with Smart Profile.
- Experienced with Legacy and GeoTol programming.
- Mathematical 3-dimensional spatial skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work under minimal supervision.
