UPMC Harrisburg, located in downtown Harrisburg, is a full-service acute care hospital with 409 beds. The hospital serves as the hub for the UPMC network, providing the most advanced care to the residents throughout southcentral Pennsylvania. The site has a state-of-the-art Labor and Delivery area and the region's premier kidney transplant center.

Cardiac (minimally invasive), thoracic, ortho, neuro, transplant (kidney), ENT, head and neck, pediatric (multiple subspecialists), vascular (major and minimally invasive), OB (3,800-4,000 deliveries per year), & GYN

Shifts

8s, 10s, 12s, 16s and 24s (when available)

Our anesthesia team includes more than 75 CRNAs and 60 anesthesiologists, as well as more than 30 anesthesia and cardiovascular technicians while working in a care team model.

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements
  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
