The (RN) Registered Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of nursing care within a designated unit in a long-term care facility. This role involves a combination of clinical leadership, managerial responsibilities, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Provide direct supervision and leadership to nursing staff within the assigned unit.
Monitor and assess the quality of patient care, ensuring compliance with established protocols, standards, and regulations.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
Assess and address residents' health needs and emergencies promptly.
Ensure the accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff within the unit.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, policies, and procedures.
Address staff performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage scheduling to meet resident care needs.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care practices within the unit.
Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Conduct regular audits of documentation, infection control measures, and other relevant processes.
Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain open and effective communication with residents, their families, and healthcare team members.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate resident care.
Communicate effectively with the Director of Nursing, Nursing Home Administrator, and other department heads.
Education and Training:
Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and advancements in long-term care nursing.
