JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:


The Cross Coverage Representative for Accounts Receivable is responsible for providing support as needed for No Activity, Denials Resolution and Appeals related to processing ETM worklist.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Processes ETM worklist when assistance is required in No Activity, Denials Resolution and Appeals.
Reviews rejections to identify trends and carrier issues require reporting to management.
Participates in unit progress meetings with staff regarding No Activity, Denials Resolution and Appeals.
Notifies AR manager of any unusual circumstances regarding Overprovisions, Patient Accounts and Payment Processing.
Performs other duties and assignments as requested by Accounts Receivable Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum one-year previous medical billing experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge of health care reimbursement guidelines, Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of appeals and review policies for state and government plans.
Demonstrated knowledge of physician billing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent follow-up skills.
Excellent organizational skills.

Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting
Occasional standing/bending
Occasional lifting/carrying (20lbs or less)
Moderate stress
Prolonged sitting
Prolonged work on a PC/computer
Prolonged telephone work
This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
