Littler Mendelson P.C. is seeking an attorney with a minimum of 4 years of employment experience to join Littler’s Chicago office. The candidate must be licensed to practice in Illinois, and work with client to:

  • Provide day-to-day proactive employment law advice, assistance and counseling;
  • Proactively review new legislation, employment law developments and best practices and assist client to update policies and practices consistent with changes;
  • Counsel client’s in-house attorneys and HR team on a wide range of employment relations, compensation and talent acquisition matters, including offer letters, performance management, discipline, accommodations, diversity and inclusion and terminations;
  • Draft, revise and negotiate employment related contracts;
  • Create, customize and update release agreements.

Requirements:

  • Work proactively and reliably under tight timeframes for a fast-paced client;
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment;
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to write concisely;
  • Comfort speaking and writing about complex matters with pragmatism to communicate clearly with legal and non-legal client contacts;
  • Commitment to professionalism;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time;
  • 4+ years relevant law firm or in-house counsel experience;
  • This is an advice and counsel focused position;
  • Executive compensation experience preferred but not required;
  • Experience working with clients in financial services preferred but not required;
