Lead as Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency Program with Sentara

Sentara is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and develop a new Internal Medicine residency in Woodbridge, VA . This will include the 2024 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) application process for a 2026 program start . The position will involve direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to help establish a new GME program and to make a difference in the community by training new physicians and partnering in our mission to improve health every day.
5 FTE/ 20 administrative hours per week required and 0.Maintain current knowledge of national innovations in curriculum form and content.
~ Responsible for the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, counseling, evaluation, and advancement of residents.
~ Develop policies for the program and monitor overall compliance with these policies.
~ Serve as the primary graduate medical education (GME) leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
~ Responsible for prudent management of the programs financial resources.
