Salary: $57,600 - $60,000 / year
The Regional Director will be tasked with maintaining and further building the BBB brand visibility and reputation. This individual will be critical to further positioning BBB as a leader in advancing marketplace trust and showcasing the organization's brand, success, appeal, and culture. In this important and highly visible position, our ideal candidate demonstrates an outgoing personality and has no reservations when it comes to public speaking. He or she is experienced in working in front of and behind the camera and has a strong working knowledge of news rooms and reporters. An ideal candidate is highly proactive and self-motivated, and is a fast learner that can easily pick up company- and industry-speak. Most importantly, the candidate should be someone who can both think strategically as part of the overall communications team, but who is just as happy rolling up their sleeves to get quality work done quickly, efficiently and independently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following and other duties as assigned.
Administration:Coordinate and provide administrative support for any local BBB led advisory committees.Assist with local company investigations, as neededWork with BBB Corporate office executives to carry out functions and meet overall organizational objectives of BBBSubmit weekly activity reports.Attend local BBB meetings, both virtual and in-person, as needed.
Community Outreach:Serve as the principal on-camera BBB spokesperson in all assigned media markets.Maintain effective public relations, education and community outreach programs and relationship management in assigned media markets.Secure impactful media coverage in business, industry, and regional press including thought leadership articles, feature and company storiesMaintain regular contact with advisory committee and BBB board members and other local community leaders. Develop relationships for and make recommendations for community leaders that may serve on the BBB board.Maintain appropriate relationships with government agencies, associations, local industry groups and the media to further the objectives and enhance the image of BBB.Implement and make recommendations for outreach programs. Communicate regularly with BBB staff and alert them to timely, relevant local issues and trends to create news releases that are of particular interest to the local communities.Communicate regularly about the specific needs in local communities and make suggestions on how to serve them better.Attend trade shows, as necessary.Speak to local industry, consumer and business groups on a variety of topics, as necessary.Participate actively in business and community affairs that effect BBB interests.Make contacts with the community to further the objectives of the BBB and to obtain other sources that are unavailable through the BBB's internal funding.Coordinate all local events, including assisting in obtaining sponsorships, planning and promotion as directed.
Relationship Management:Conduct ongoing visits to develop effective relationships with BBB Accredited Businesses.Assist Business Development department in prospecting businesses in assigned markets for possible BBB accreditation.Identify local market needs and opportunities for relationship building, media coverage, speaking engagements, event and activitiesCreate, develop and manage relationships with key reporters and news agencies and influencers to further increase awareness of BBB's industry-leading resources, growth and cultureWork with business relations/ marketing departments and assist with AB communications and retention activities.Provide leads to business relations team for follow up. Explain the value of BBB Accreditation to prospects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NECESSARYBachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field of study4+ years of proven track record in media and outreach experience primarily with a focus in consumer and business relationships.Personal presence and poise to be able to represent the BBB brand internally and externally appropriatelyEquivalent combination of education and/or experience.Strong team player but also able to work independentlyStrong expertise in media relations and securing award and speaking opportunities.Must be comfortable networking, speaking in front of large groups and proactively building meaningful relationships related to furthering BBB's mission and strategic goals.
