Job Summary:

The QA technician role is to ensure the daily monitoring of company policies and procedures relating to: Food Safety, Food Security, Quality Assurance Programs, SSOP, GMP, and SOP’s.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Pre-Op when necessary.

  • Monitor Tsunami (PAA) levels ex. Chill tank, dicer, bin waters.

  • Monitor Metal Detectors and perform bag seals, container seal checks.

  • Check Product Quality and Julian dates on finished product.

  • Perform spot checks on but not limited to packed products in boxes, foreign object in containers, COO.

  • Develop site specific paperwork i.e. logs, checklists, etc.

  • Perform other HACCP related monitoring such as: Monitor Ambient Temperatures of Processing Rooms, Raw Meat Storage, Receiving, Dry Good Areas.

  • Prepare and Monitor Hand Dips and Foot Baths.

Education Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Some Knowledge of food processing and quality programs.

Experience Required:

At least 2 years production experience

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to effectively perform in a multi-tasking environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Able to work in a group setting.

  • Able to work alone.

  • Strong organization and active listening skills.

  • Communication skills both written and verbal

  • Computer Literate

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time.

  • The ability to lift to 30 lbs.

  • Ability to work in Cold and Hot temperature rooms.
