Job Description:

Client seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer with strong technical, analytical, and business intelligence skill sets and experience to be a key partner for Client's Advertising business focusing on Client Business Ads.
This role will be the dedicated key contributor supporting the Client Business Ads business
The person will build out the data infrastructure, business insights, and analysis practice for stakeholders, gaining visibility across Ads, Retail, and Finance orgs
We generate insights to guide product and partner strategy, and we provide direct business strategy support to senior leaders
We are motivated to improve on our unique customer experience with Client Business, helping them Client, find, and complete their Client Business shopping journey through Ads.
As a key analytics partner, the Business Intelligence Engineer will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to deliver insights that drive decisions and actions
This role involves translating broad business problems into specific analytics projects, building out scalable data solutions, conducting deep quantitative analyses, and communicating results effectively
We see a high potential for growth in this role as we transform our data into actionable insights to continue to fuel the growth of this business
The role will help the organization identify, evaluate, and evangelize new techniques and tools to continue to improve our ability to deliver value to Client's Customers.
This role requires an individual with excellent business, communication, and technical skills, enabling collaboration with various functions, including product managers, data engineers, finance managers, software engineers, data scientists, as well as senior leadership
The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and complex datasets, with strong ownership, and with an ability to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.
This BIE will be actively involved in building scalable data infra, understanding impact of product changes, and identifying opportunities for growth through exploratory analyses including use of statistical techniques
This role provides the opportunity to use emerging technologies such as machine learning to build models and tools used by management for strategic decision making.

Surrounding Team and Key Projects:
This role will be the dedicated key contributor supporting the Client Business Ads business

Typical Task Breakdown:
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing and new metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc
to drive key business decisions.
Explore and deep dive into new areas to help us understand key opportunity areas to drive growth, e.g., new ads inventory in other channels or ad products.
Build/rebuild scalable data infrastructure as well as data pipelines and dashboards to enable new metrics, e.g., what types of Books can further drive ads growth for which types of Books Publishers?
Present findings and recommendations to business leadership.
Help build data systems that leverage diverse data sources to provide a comprehensive view of advertiser engagement and performance.
Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

Degrees/ Certs and/or Experience Required:
2-5 years of experience working with large-scale complex datasets.
Graduate degree in math/statistics, computer science or related field, or marketing is highly desirable.
Strong analytical mindset, ability to decompose business requirements into an analytical plan, and execute the plan to answer those business questions.
Strong working knowledge of SQL.
Background (academic or professional) in statistics, programming, and marketing.
Excellent communication skills, equally adept at working with engineers as well as business leaders.
