Foxconn Interconnect Technology, Inc. (“FIT”) is seeking an experienced RD Engineer to join as a valued member of the Research and development team.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Design innovative and strategic High Voltage and Current Connection Systems from the idea to series like Terminals, Housings, Charging Inlets & Charging Couplers for the Mobility Industry (EV).
  • Responsible for the function of the Product in the mobility industry
  • Investigate new manufacturing technologies like EMPT(Electro Magnetic Pule Technology), ultrasonic welding, higher automation etc.
  • Benchmark of Competitor products to derive innovative solutions.
  • Material definition with experts and potential supplier
  • Coordination, planning, assessment of relevant simulations like mechanics, thermal, EMC etc. and translating into product design.
  • Filling the CAD System with the acc. Process defined data.
  • Design & Concept alignment with the core team, product management and other relevant functions
  • Investigations in innovative Manufacturing technologies for HV Connection Systems
  • Develop design standards and best practice.


Education and Experience:

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Contact physics
  • Knowledge in Plastics and relevant manufacturing processes like injection molding
  • Experience working in metals and relevant manufacturing processes like high-speed stamping and plating
  • CAD System, linear and non-linear analysis/simulations, thermal and electrical simulations
  • Experience in manufacturing process of HV Connectors
  • Knowledge in Industry Standards Like LV 214, USCAR 2, LV 215
  • Working knowledge of product development (processes, approaches, tools and techniques) & validation in the mobility industry acc. to IATF 16949
  • Creepage and clearances, shielding, HVIL and sealing.
  • Knowledge in cable harness build process.
  • Awareness recognition & protection of IP (intellectual property) features
  • statistical methods like DOEs, Hypothesis testing and capability studies.
  • Working knowledge in prototyping methods
  • Knowledge in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & FMEA
