Job Overview:

The Fixture and Tool Engineer (3-6 Years Experience) is responsible for designing and developing high-quality fixtures and tools that are used in manufacturing processes. They work closely with other engineers and production staff to ensure that the fixtures and tools are designed to meet the needs of the production process and are easy to use. The Fixture and Tool Engineer (3-6 Years Experience) is expected to take a leadership role in the design and development of fixtures and tools.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of high-quality fixtures and tools for use in manufacturing processes.

• Highlights all technical risks to tooling lead

• Collaborate with other engineers and production staff to ensure that fixtures and tools are designed to meet the needs of the production process and are easy to use.

• Ensure that fixtures and tools are manufactured to meet the design specifications.

• Provide technical support to production staff as needed.

• Continuously improve fixtures and tools based on feedback from the

• production staff.

• Mentor and train entry-level and junior engineers in the design and development of fixtures and tools.

• Work with other departments and stakeholders to develop and implement best practices for fixture and tool design and development.

• Track tool request progress & provide status/reports as needed to customers, suppliers, and peers.

• Keep all design files accurate, up to date, and stored in accordance with departmental procedures

• Support the quoting and PO release process (responses, capital, PO data, etc.)

• Prepare and present mechanical design reviews


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

• 3-6 years of experience in designing and developing fixtures and tools for manufacturing processes.

• Strong experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.

• Ability to read and understand manufacturing blueprints and basic GD&T.

• Knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and manufacturing methods.

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

• Strong leadership skills and experience mentoring and training other engineers.

• Experience working with other departments and stakeholders to develop and implement best practices is a plus.
