Job Description:

The Patient Account Supervisor is responsible for billing and collections functions. Submits claims to all payors timely in support of accounts receivable billing and collections goals. Establishes and implements appropriate controls to ensure billing, and payment cycles submission. Establishes and monitors auditing and billing policies and procedures to maximize hospital revenue.  

Required Skills:


  1. Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Knowledge of principles and fundamentals of budgeting, accounting, record-keeping and business writing.
  3. Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Strong organizational, leadership, customer relations, oral and written communication skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administration.
  5. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with HCPCS and ICD-10 coding preferred.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and use of basic office equipment.
  7. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations, as well as other third party billing requirements.
  8. Ability to perform account receivables analyses utilizing report writing applications.

     
 

Required Experience:

Work Experience:  

Two years supervisory experience required.   

Three years of experience in billing and collections in a healthcare setting required.  

License/Registration/Certification:  

None.   

Education and Training:  

High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.
