Geotex Construction Services, Inc. an Employee Owned Company is seeking a Project Manager to join our team. Geotex is a site development contractor serving Columbus and the surrounding area. We specialize in earthmoving, grading, underground utilities, and demolition for a wide range of projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant clients, or project team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire scope of one or more residential, commercial or industrial construction projects from start to finish.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and scope.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager and onsite foreman. Analyze production data to ensure project is progressing as estimated.
- Problem-solve to address cost savings, delays, emergencies or other issues.
- Demonstrate effective relationship building within the project team and throughout the company.
- Provide support to field staff, following Geotex Inc. best practices and keep field team members informed and active in decision-making.
- Review Owner contract and become familiar with terms, conditions and scope.
- Communicate clearly the contract and technical matters.
- Select vendors and subcontractors and delegate work.
- Comply with safety and local jurisdictions as well as legal requirements.
- Prepare budgets, cost estimates, schedules and timelines.
- Takeoff jobs (manually and electronically) for extra work pricing and material ordering.
- Demonstrate effective relationship building within the project team and throughout the company.
Requirements:
- 6+ year's experience in a Project Management role.
- Background of technical skills and understanding of construction methods, contracts, and blueprints.
- Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
- Proven experience in job costing, estimating, and billing.
- 4+ years of prior site work experience
- Construction Software experience or exposure preferred.
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail and customer relations.
- Ability to write proposals and reports.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Knowledge of terminology within the work area.
- Ability to understand and communicate oral and written instructions.
- Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.
- Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer skills (folders, email, word/excel, web)
- Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide clean driving record.
