We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Project Engineer with a specialization in solar energy. This role is responsible for the management, initiation, completion, and oversight of all project-related activities, including the management of equipment, personnel, and the project budget. It entails the management of the project team, budget management, and time management in alignment with the established project objectives.


This position is in Houston, Texas.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing project requirements, specifications, and site conditions for solar energy projects.
  • Collaborate with solar engineers and design teams to develop preliminary solar energy system layouts and configurations.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to assess project feasibility, including site conditions, shading analysis, and environmental considerations.
  • Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates and budgets for solar energy projects, including solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, and balance of system components.
  • Utilize solar energy modeling software and tools to optimize system performance and energy production estimates.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting solar equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Support the development of project schedules and timelines, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and project partners to gather requirements and address technical considerations.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, bid documents, and presentations for solar energy projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in solar energy and renewable energy development.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, PVsyst, HelioScope, or other solar energy modeling software is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and principles, including photovoltaic technology and solar energy conversion.
  • English: Professional/Conversational
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • experience in solar energy, renewable energy, or construction-related field is a must.
