I hope you're doing well We have an immediate opening for a multi-site HR Manager working at an industrial manufacturing company in Chesapeake, VA. This role will be overseeing HR functions at their facility in Chesapeake, VA and a small additional site in Houston, TX.


We are looking for an HR leader that takes a boots-on-the-ground approach to human resources. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient HR professional that is focused on employee advocacy / relations and can also protect company interests. This role will oversee staffing and recruiting as well.


Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly preferred. This is a direct hire role with full benefits.


Day-to-Day:

• Respond and investigate employee relations issues and recommend steps of action.

• Benefits Administration / Open Enrollment

• Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, advise employees and contract managers on the interpretation of human resources policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

• Complete hiring process, status changes, and termination process. Ensure new hire packets are complete in accordance with Federal and State law as well as company and contract policies. Maintain HR records.

• Process unemployment claims and participates in unemployment hearings, when needed, assist with wage/hour, EEOC and NLRB charges and requests.

• Provide current and prospective employees with information about company policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.

• Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars

• Perform other HR related functions as assigned.


Must-Haves:

• Strong full-cycle HR experience

• Recruiting experience

• Experience in a manufacturing or blue-collar type environment
