Job summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operations of a Campus Shuttle location and for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Campus Operations Department.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review applicants daily
  • Complete interviews
  • Ensure location is staffed
  • Verify payroll
  • Work with maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are properly maintained
  • GPS Tracking - ensure tracking systems are working properly
  • Manage Drug Testing - random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, pre-employment
  • Monitor buses on campus – both by using GPS and direct observation of service
  • Maintain client relationship
  • Attend customer meetings as required
  • Emails, calls and text messages – respond in a timely manner
  • Customer Complaints, respond and log
  • Reports as required
  • Client requests – re-routing, additional units requested, investigation of incidents
  • Train staff (drivers, supervisors, admin)
  • Human Resources

  • c. Terminations
  • d. Address employee concerns

  • Communication - Respond to emails, calls and text messages in a timely manner


Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

Software experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook and other Internet applications

Must pass pre-employment drug test

Complete pre-employment background check

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with route planning
  • Ability to plan ahead and project service needs to maintain proper staffing
  • Five (5) years transportation or logistics management experience; at least three (3) of those years managing upwards of 15 employees
  • Working knowledge of DOT and safety regulations
