Overview: The LG Energy Solution-Honda joint venture has partnered with Rose International for Direct hire recruiting services for this role.


The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) training specialist at LG-Honda will lead the development (using Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as content advisors) of the safety compliance training curriculum for the company. The EHS training specialist will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and conducting training programs. They will also analyze organizational training needs and evaluate training effectiveness.


Responsibilities:

• Analyze EHS and risk training needs to develop new training or improve existing training

• Develop (using SMEs as content advisors) and maintain safety compliance training curriculum, including initial, refresher and certification maintenance course offerings

• Collaborate with project teams to identify training needs based on work projections, changes, and other factors

• Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, Computer Based Training (CBT) and other educational materials

• Develop (using SMEs as content advisors) or purchase new or updated content. Content can be available in multiple formats and offerings

• Interact directly and advise EHS associates and department training coordinators to promote course availability, completion, and refresher schedules

• Manage service provider contracts, submit purchase requisitions, and manage budget

• Coordinate course schedules, provide course feedback, and modify content based on business need

• Coordinate and mentor company’s trainers

• Promote one-way-best-way solutions by the deployment of standard training programs to develop associate skills / knowledge while focus on efficiency up and cost down solutions

• Lead or Participate in EHS council sub-committees

• Conduct new hire EHS training orientations and coordinate job site EHS training

• Develop facilities, job site, and equipment safety assessments to be conducted through safety-based software

• Training instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training for specific EHS Train-the-Trainer topics

• Use leading and lagging indicator trends to prepare focused training initiatives to increase understanding and prevent incidents

• Review analytical information to ensure training goals are being met

• Prepare reports to share with project teams


Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental health or equivalent related experience

• Minimum 3 years of related experience based on education


Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of environmental, health & safety rules and regulations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software and advanced Excel skills

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Strong leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills

• Ability to create innovative solutions to problems/issues

• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple demands

• Ability to motivate and direct team members to achieve stated objectives

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations

• Flexibility to work overtime and adjusted shifts as necessary
