Job Title: Employee Verification Specialist/Human Resources Generalist
Duration: Temporary (1 - 2 Weeks)
Location: Onsite (Marion, AR)
Job Summary:
The E-Verification Specialist is responsible for managing and executing employment eligibility verification processes in compliance with federal regulations. This role involves verifying new hires' work authorization through the E-Verify system and managing the Form I-9 process to ensure all employment records are accurate, compliant, and up to date. The E-Verification Specialist will work closely with the HR team and assist with auditing and reporting as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employment Eligibility Verification
- Use the E-Verify system to confirm employment eligibility for all new hires.
- Conduct Form I-9 verification for each employee and ensure timely completion.
- Follow up on tentative non-confirmations (TNCs) and resolve any verification discrepancies in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all documentation meets USCIS and Department of Homeland Security requirements.
- Regularly audit I-9 and E-Verify records for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure storage of all employee verification documentation.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and recommend process improvements for efficient verification and compliance.
- Train HR and hiring managers on compliance best practices related to E-Verify and I-9.
- Communication and Follow-up
- Act as a liaison between employees, HR, and regulatory bodies to resolve verification issues.
- Inform employees promptly of any discrepancies or issues that arise during the verification process.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping
- Generate regular reports on I-9 and E-Verify status and communicate findings to HR leadership.
- Ensure that records are accessible for internal audits or inspections by relevant authorities.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Experience: Experience with E-Verify, I-9 forms, or a similar employment eligibility verification system.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with HR compliance. Proficiency with HRIS systems is preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with federal employment eligibility laws and E-Verify regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in HR compliance, employment verification, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of immigration and employment law.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
