Position Overview:
The Field Service Robotics Engineer will undertake the responsibility of visiting client sites to install, upkeep, repair, and enhance robotics and automation systems. This role involves diagnosing and rectifying electrical and mechanical issues, conducting repairs and rebuilds, and formulating maintenance strategies. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to optimize system performance, deliver technical training and assistance, and analyze system efficiency for enhancements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel to client locations for the installation, maintenance, repair, and enhancement of robotics and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical complications, encompassing power distribution, wiring, and control systems, to ensure seamless operation of robotic machinery.
- Conduct repairs and rebuilds of robotic systems within a controlled workshop environment, guaranteeing peak performance and dependability.
- Identify and address mechanical challenges within robotic systems, covering mechanical assemblies, actuators, sensors, and end-effectors.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of robotic systems.
- Execute calibration procedures, tests, and adjustments to uphold the precision and accuracy of robotic systems and associated components.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to tackle technical hurdles, enhance system performance, and introduce improvements.
- Offer technical training and support to clients and end-users on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic systems.
- Assess and evaluate the performance of robotic systems, pinpointing opportunities for optimization, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings.
- Maintain precise records of service activities, including service reports, work orders, and parts inventory. Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to internal teams and clients.
Qualifications Desired:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Fanuc field service and shop rebuilds preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and programming formats like Fanuc, ABB, Epson, Kuka, etc.
- Expertise in electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics for industrial robotic systems.
- Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nonessential Skills and Experience:
- Team player with a positive attitude.
