Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Science, Technology & Industry team in Albany, Rochester or Buffalo NY.

Our Science, Technology and Industry Practice is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our highly collaborative multi-discipline team and contribute to successful projects for our clients. We do a variety of project types spanning pharmaceutical, biotech, cell and gene therapy industries, cGMP facilities, cleanrooms plus other industrial facilities. We strive to listen and understand our clients' needs so we can provide an effective design solution in support of their business. This approach has enabled us to develop a repeat client basis greater than 90%. Comprehensive skills to be successful in this role include programming and planning, concept design, ability to manage and lead the A/E design team, develop strong client relationships, ability to develop design solutions, knowledgeable in code analysis and research, material and product analysis and research, specification writing, and preparation of construction documents.


Responsibilities

Collaborates with colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary and collaborative design culture. Programming and planning. Concept Design. Manage and Lead A/E Design teams. Interact with Clients and build relationships. Develop and present design solutions. Conduct code analysis and research. Conduct materials and product analysis and research. Specification writing. Prepare and manage construction documents. Coordinates all communication between the client and Colliers Engineering, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues including contracts and additional services. Delivers clear and timely feedback/communication to the project team. Monitors the performance of the project team and approach, to ensure that Colliers Engineering's quality standards and design goals are met. Establishes, maintains and documents regular project-related meetings including client, internal team and consultants’ meetings. Considers risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability. Highly organized and able to multitask. Follows through with post-contract administration (e.g. follow up calls to ensure satisfaction and source additional marketing leads, maintains the relationship with the client). Completely integrates the design and technical aspects of a project. Initiates, documents and maintains project setup, including contract review, project process and filing procedures, work authorizations and assisting accounting in timely distribution of invoices. Responsible for meeting or exceeding the financial goals established for the project and providing timely and appropriate information to Accounting to initiate invoicing. Has direct contact responsibility with clients and associated consultants, to ensure timely collections and management of delinquent accounts receivables. Ensures the orderly and complete preparation, distribution and retention of all project written records. Understands design philosophies, overall building design concepts, design software and delivery methods. Understands and responds to the technical implications of design decisions. Defines, monitors and maintains control of the scope of work and services for the project including schedule and work plan. Prepares and negotiates client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules and contracts. Behaves consistently with integrity, trust and commitmente.
Qualifications

10+ years of experience with a majority of that experience in the Science, Technology & Industry sector. Professional Engineering Licensure preferred. Strong Revit and AutoCAD skills preferred. Prior experience with SketchUp, Google Earth, Enscape, BlueBeam, SpecBuilder Cloud, and CTM BIM Suite preferred. Able to build relationships and communicate at every level of a project. Able to work independently with minimal instruction. Client-facing experience.

Compensation: $118k - $173k DOQ.
