Job Summary
Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care. Responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice and promoting cooperation among the health care team. In addition, the Registered Nurse shall meet personal accountabilities as defined in the Tenet Target 100 standards of Service, People, Quality, Growth and Cost.Qualifications
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
2 years of L&D experience Current CA RN License Current BLS, ACLS Certifications Current NRP (New Grads must have within 6 months of hire) Must have completed a Fetal Monitoring Class within the past 2 years (New Grads must have within 6 months of hire) Must be willing and able to cross train for OB/GYN patientsDesired Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
Previous Mother-Baby, L&D or Med/Surg experience Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education:
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
Certifications:
Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
