Summary :
Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and Operations, the pharmacy supervisor is responsible for the training, supervision, and coordination of daily tasks performed by pharmacy personnel. While maintaining duties as a Clinical Pharmacist as needed to support staffing, the Supervisor will assist in with inventory control, provide communication to interdisciplinary partners on medication related matters, and manage other aspects of the clinical service provided by the Pharmacy Department.
Responsibilities :
Develops, implements, and maintains the Pharmacist staffing schedule Coordinates the orientation training program and associated competencies for new pharmacy employees Assists pharmacy leadership with the dissemination of information both internally and externally to the department as required Supports other pharmacy leadership team members in the preparation of the department budget as well as short and long term strategic planning Collaborates with nursing, medical staff and other department managers to ensure pharmaceutical services are optimized for all patients ranging from newborns to the elderly. Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures; assists with development and implementation of projects and programs to accomplish established department goals. Provides coverage as a clinical pharmacist - Generalist for the department, as necessary. Utilizes knowledge and understanding of underlying operational issues to provide assistance and support to the Director of Pharmacy and Operations Manager in administrative problem solving, project planning and management, and development and execution of department programs and projects. Either provides direct oversight or assists in the supervision of pharmacy technician personnel to ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications to patient care areas. Leverages software and technology within the department to minimize chances of medication errors and provide for efficient medication delivery Other Duties as assignedOther Information :
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience in Hospital Pharmacy Competencies and Skills
