Position Summary: The biomedical equipment technician role is responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment throughout the laboratory. Utilizing a work order system the technician will perform planned maintenance, repairs, and electrical safety checks on a multitude of devices and maintain documentation showing compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Core Responsibilities: Complete PM, repairs, and installation qualifications as assigned Calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting equipment Inspect new laboratory equipment for safe installation and operation Assist laboratory professionals in good equipment practices Maintain good documenting practices on all equipment maintenance and repairs Maintain continuing education on all appropriate equipment and testing devices Effectively communicates all maintenance or building related events to affected personnel Provide operational knowledge to staff to improve the use of biomedical equipment Identify trends, unusual activity, and repeated activity and report to management to assist in continuously improving the department Make recommendations to department leadership for product or system improvements, including procedural steps, additional training, and/or documentation enhancements Attend trainings to expand devices you are capable of repairing, PM, and calibrate. Education & Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering preferred Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certifications a plus 3+ years’ experience in a related field within a Hospital or Laboratory setting with degree 5+ years’ experience in a related field within a Hospital or Laboratory setting w/o degree Excellent time management skills with the ability to execute projects systematically Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.
