Assesses HSO management of professional practice and clinical education programs and establishes goals and expectations for continuous learning and improvement based on BJCs culture and values. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides direction and HSO oversight in development of clinical rotations for students, onboarding new graduate RNs and others clinical roles, new nursing orientation, continuing education, competencies and other targeted educational initiatives, such as training for clinical programs (Service Lines) to support safe, high quality, customer-centric care. Provides direction and oversees development, implementation, and evaluation of professional practice and professional development programs across the System. Facilitates integration of professional development into nursing competencies to hardwire culture of excellence and enhance customer experience. Oversees alignment and integration where possible of nursing excellence programs (e.g., Magnet). Leads, with HSO co-chairs, the Professional Development Program to design and implement career ladders and professional pathways for nurses and other non-RN clinical professionals.
