Position Summary:

The Community Health Specialists are hourly clinical staff who will provide support for program activities including but not limited to health fairs, community events and targeted outreach. These staff will provide screening services including taking biometric measurements, implementing screening questionnaires, counseling at-risk individuals and referring eligible participants to evidence-based programs. This position reports to the Journey to Better Health Program Coordinator.

Position Details:

Community Health Days; 20 hours per week

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with an interest in behavioral, community or public health. Experience working in a community setting is preferred but not required. Bilingual in Spanish, Korean, or Chinese preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification:

Must maintain current Maryland License as an RN or licensure in a compact state that allows practice in Maryland. Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation. This position may spend the majority of the time working in the community, away from the office.

Salary Range: Minimum 34.00 per hour - Maximum 51.16 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
