General Summary: Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Mechanic II to function for a variety of government Ship Repair projects and alterations. Work is performed onboard US Naval ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, and temperature. Work is performed with equipment where carelessness could result in injury and/or death.

Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must pass background check andaccess all work locations, including government and private shipyards and/or vessels; must be able to obtain and retainDefense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) card. Must be US Citizen. Minimum 2 -5 years relevant experience on U.S. Navy ships. Able to obtain a Security clearance. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the mechanical engineering field. Position Requirements

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

Works under general supervision. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a supervisor. Responsible for fabrication and assembly of various electromechanical and electronic assemblies. Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to complete tasks. May perform duties as a fire watch and welder's helper as well as assembling large scale and intricate mechanical assemblies.

Receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
