The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented .

The Patient Accounts Specialist is responsible for receiving and resolving first line inquiries over the phone and written correspondence concerning patient accounts by patients or insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities include:

Document all internal and external inquiries concerning patient accounts including patient and third party payers. Act as the first line of support to patient or third party payer contacting the facility with questions concerning an account or claim. Root cause issues and attempt to resolve. Document and communicate resolution as appropriate in the Patient Accounting System. Escalate problem accounts to management team of department for assistance and resolution. Clearly communicate resolution of issues to responsible parties and or guarantors on the account. Respond within hours to patient inquiry which requires research providing updates on the status or the resolution of their issue each step of the process. Work with facility and internal departments of the CBO to investigate and resolve issues associated with patient or insurance company inquiries. Maintain working knowledge of the call routing system and patient accounting system Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years customer service experience preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) Customer focused both internally and externally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Familiarity with customer service and 1-3 years healthcare business office experience preferred.
