Position Summary:

The Embedded Software Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of embedded firmware developers with a team size of up to 8. This team will be responsible for creating requirements, developing code, creating and maintaining documentation, and conducting testing in various phases of the project including unit tests and functional testing. Low-level platform code as well as higher level application code will all be in the realm of responsibility for this team. The Embedded Software Supervisor is responsible for directly leading the team through technical decision-making, writing code, and managing project schedules.

Essential Position Duties:

A candidate for this position possesses the following soft skills and technical competencies.

  • Technical competencies
    • Minimum 7 years experience with C++ on embedded Linux platforms or C on bare metal platforms. A combination of the two is acceptable.
    • Firmware development experience is required in industries such as automotive, consumer appliances, mobile devices, or similar
    • Minimum 7 years industry experience in software testing concepts including black box, white box, and grey box testing approaches
    • Minimum of 7 years of direct leadership experience such as managing performance reviews, task assignments, and providing guidance and technical expertise to ensure successful execution of projects.
    • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, including pipelines and task boards
  • Soft skills
    • Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a customer-centric manner
    • Ability to work on cross-functional teams
    • Capable of working autonomously and leading multiple teams
    • Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills
    • Committed to working in an alert and safe manner and with engineering rigor while upholding Toyota's Core Values at all times.

Education & Experience:

Bachelors of Science in one of the following degrees is required for this position.

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
