Research Assistant

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain quality standards to preserve the integrity of data and findings.
- Schedule and conduct interviews and/or focus groups.
- Coordinate with partner organizations to facilitate research studies actively underway.
- Analyze data using various statistical methods.
- Write reports to summarize data and the implications of the results.
- Assist with grant development and submissions.
- Contribute new ideas and approaches to help build the research department’s function and reach.
- Conduct literature reviews and conduct research regarding best practices, standards and guidelines, innovative policies and approaches to community-based research.
- Potential for occasional travel to research sites and partnership meetings throughout Massachusetts, New England and other national contexts as required by research funders or emerging project needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 years of qualitative research and/or direct experience with coordinating healthcare research projects.
- Experience with DeDoose and other qualitative software.
- Strong skills spreadsheet and database.
- Lived experience with disability or demonstrated experience working around disability issues and intersectionality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and successfully manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently.
- A collaborative spirit, the ability to see another’s point of view, empathy, and the ability to identify a path forward in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to lead and influence without authority.
- Ability to successfully develop and maintain strong working relationships with both cross-functional internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in relevant field a plus.
- Experience with community-based research is a plus.
This is a full time position that features hybrid/flexible work options, 3 weeks of paid vacation and 2 weeks of paid sick time per year and 13 paid holidays per year.
