A highly esteemed and successful Real Estate Investment firm in New Jersey is looking to hire an experienced Financial Controller. The primary responsibilities of the Controller will be to lead and oversee an accounting department of bookkeepers, compiling and analyzing financial information, advising senior management on accounting matters, oversee the maintenance of strong internal processes and controls, and lead accounting processes and procedures such as cash management, AR/AP, month end close, and financial reporting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day financial success of the company through strong supervision of accounting and administrative staff, reporting directly to the CFO and ownership. 
• Manage all finance and accounting operations including AR/AP, Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, cost accounting, inventory accounting, partner distributions, and revenue.
• Review financial statements at month end close
• Supervise cash management to include wire transfers/bank check requests, deposit review, bank draws, bank reconciliations
• Implement and Maintain strong internal accounting processes and controls
• Supervise and assist budget process for the management company and individual properties within the portfolio
• Identify area for process improvement and recommend solutions

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Senior Real Estate experience with a preferred background in Commercial Real Estate Property Accounting 
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (Master's or CPA Preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to understand complex accounting processes
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational and writing skills
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Possess a high degree of proficiency in Excel
• Experience with Yardi Voyager or other Real Estate software a plus
• Excellent communicator; team oriented with a passion for learning and contributing.
