Substance Use Disorder Counselor Details:

Will be responsible for providing direct patient care for adult patients struggling with substance abuse. SUDC will work closely with the patient and treatment team to develop a therapeutic plan for the patient. This position provides direct clinical care through group therapy and developing relapse prevention plans. Complete Addiction Severity Index Assessments (ASI’s) for all dual diagnosis and detox patients. Make discharge recommendations. Utilize motivational interviewing and other evidence based skills to work with patients experiencing addiction to engage them in the recovery process. Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning, team meetings or other means to coordinate care for patients. **Clinical supervision toward licensure provided**

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, preferred. Master’s degree in related field preferred. CAS II, ADDC, or LAC preferred. One-year experience working with psychiatric mental health population, and/or chemically dependent population preferred.. Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
