SUMMARY

The Detailed Scheduler is responsible for updating and maintaining the detailed production schedule within the defined scheduling horizon. This role utilizes QAD and Preactor systems to ensure an optimized production schedule for the products, lines and sites managed in accordance with customer demands and available capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops a working knowledge of the company’s products and processes to ensure an optimized short-term detail schedule for assigned packaging resources. Supports release of, or releases, work orders to be executed on the shop floor that ensure supply meets predetermined timing and available capacity. Validates schedule feasibility via review against raw material, WIP, and components within the firm horizon. Supports site level scenario planning as needed. Communicates/hands over detailed schedule to manufacturing for execution. Maintains regular communication with operations personnel to determine demonstrated plant capacities and the impact of production changes to the master production plan. Ensures awareness of activities necessary to support equipment calibration, maintenance plan and requalification schedules. Maintains cross-functional alignment with weekly Integrated Business Plan (IBP) for the production lines to ensure sufficient capacities/resources within the scheduling horizon. Collaborates and partners with operations to ensure accurate supply parameters (cycle times, set-up times, yield, throughput) and capacity parameters (total usable hours; target capacity, planned hours). Identifies and addresses potential short-term supply constraints within the weekly process. Updates schedules, or proposes changes, as needed to account for unforeseen conditions. Participates in daily and weekly meetings with Operations as needed. Escalates accordingly. Supports Projects/Product Launches and Non-Conformance. Provides input to the S&OP process through Master Production Planner, to allow for transparency of risks and opportunities. Identifies and prioritizes opportunities to improve detailed scheduling processes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with a specialization in Supply Chain or related field required and 3-5 years of relevant experience required. Related experience and/or education may be considered. Supply Chain Certification (APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar / IBF) desirable. Experience with ERP & Advanced Planning Systems is preferred. Planning or manufacturing experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or Contract Manufacturing or Packaging Personal skills, confidence and teamwork attitude needed to effectively interface with the other functional areas of the company on a matrix basis. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint & Word. Ability to work on-site five days per week. Fluent in English

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY

Experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or Contract Manufacturing or Packaging Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to manage & manipulate large amounts of data & convert to clear business information. Ability to influence others in a matrix environment, including building strong collaborative relationships, considering diverse perspectives and styles. Ability to make sound recommendations based on data and business insights. Ability to anticipate risks and successfully navigate ambiguity. Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes to determine if refinements would enhance speed of results and productivity or quality &/or Ability to work with Continuous Improvement tools. Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
