Pacific Coast Producers, one of the nation’s top food production companies, is seeking to fill an Industrial Mechanic position with a highly capable person. This position is based in The Dalles, OR.

Applicants should have relevant maintenance and repair experience and be considered a high-precision or skilled tradesperson. Rate of pay will be DOE.

Key responsibilities:

Monitor the condition of all industrial production equipment. Perform installation, troubleshooting and repairs to production equipment, machinery, and general production facilities.Read, interpret and implement blueprints, prints, and drawings. Perform fabrication for plant machinery. Cut and form parts and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment.Assist electricians as needed to install, repair and replace equipment.Perform arc and gas welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.Maintain heating system, ventilation, boiler and other equipment.Perform maintenance and repair to forklifts and semi-trucks.Perform general carpentry, plumbing and pipefitting.Maintain a clean, organized and hazard free work environment. RequirementsCommitted to safety and food safety, including use of appropriate protective equipment.Capable English communication skills.Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.Satisfactory completion of a related educational certificate, program or degree; and/or comparable work experience, plus formal training in this area; and a fundamental mechanical aptitude, which may be assessed by a practical exam.Demonstrated proficiency in several of the following skills: welding, lift truck mechanics, plumbing/pipefitting, heating/air conditioning systems, boiler care and maintenance, instrument repair, machine adjustment and repair, and carpentry.Certified to operate a lift truck operator or able to become such.Able to work overtime as required.
