Department Overview

 

The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team enables data governance, quality, and metadata management capabilities to maximize the use and ensure the trustworthiness of PG&E’s critical data assets.

 

Position Summary

PG&E’s Enterprise Data Management (EDM) department is looking for the right project and program manager to join our team in an exciting new opportunity. The EDM team’s mantra is “the right data to the right people, right the first time,” which governs everything we do. We are looking for the ideal candidate to help us lead large data improvement and software implementation projects. Your day to day may never look the same, but when you will be making a significant impact on the most strategic projects PG&E has undertaken. You will get an in-depth view on how PG&E operates and help set the basis for how PG&E uses data for all major functional areas.

 

This is not your standard project and program manager position. You will not be in a typical PMO where you balance the needs of the day, minimizing the impact to the project’s scope, schedule, and budget. This role will provide you the visibility and interaction with IT and the business, data, and fundamental processes throughout the company. Help us move the needle on making data into the most trusted asset PG&E has.

 

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office, 0-3 days on average per week based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum:        $122,000             

Bay Area Maximum:       $194,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs in-depth quality assurance final reviews and contract drafts.
  • Develops new or revises existing scopes of work to ensure compliance standards and deliverables are established.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business
  • 8 years of related work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) from DAMA or equivalent
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Program Management
  • Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights, and recommendations
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Skilled in using the following programs – HP Project and Portfolio Management Center (PPMC), IT Methodology, Microsoft Office Suite
