Job Summary

CITGO is seeking a highly analytical and self-motivated Emerging Technologies Intern to join our IT team. The intern will play a critical role in supporting our emerging technology initiatives with an emphasis on AI-related processes, projects, and applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing innovative solutions, integrating APIs, and automating processes to enhance our digital ecosystem within CITGO.

As an Emerging Technologies Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals, helping to analyze complex data sets and improve operational efficiencies. Your contributions will be instrumental in enhancing CITGO’s emerging technology capabilities, enabling us to maintain our competitive edge in the energy industry.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with languages such as Python and React.
  • Knowledge of AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, Copilot, and ChatGPT.
  • Knowledge of database management and SQL is highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey data insights and findings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
Job Duties
  1. Assist in the development of AI-driven applications:
    • Collaborate with team members to design and implement features for AI applications and processes.
    • Utilize tools such as ChatGPT and Azure OpenAI to integrate AI capabilities into existing processes.
  2. Support API integration and automation projects:
    • Develop and maintain API integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms.
    • Automate routine processes using Python and other scripting languages to improve efficiency.
    • Document integration processes and provide support for troubleshooting
  3. Collaboration and Project Involvement:
    • Support emerging technology projects and initiatives across various departments.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data solutions.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing to the overall success of CITGO’s IT and emerging technology objectives.
  4. Learning and Development:
    • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in emerging technologies, automation tools, and AI.
    • Attend workshops and training sessions to enhance your technical skills and knowledge.
    • Explore and experiment with new AI technologies and tools to bring innovative solutions to the team.
