Supervisor, Phlebotomy - Duarte, Medical Center (Hope Plaza)

This position reports to the Manager of Phlebotomy at our Duarte location and plays a key role on the Clinical Pathology management team as a working supervisor. The role includes primary supervisory and management responsibilities for the Clinical Specimen Processing and Phlebotomy sections, while also functioning as a general laboratory supervisor under CLIA guidelines. Additionally, the position oversees order entry processes, ensures service standards are maintained, and actively participates in day-to-day operations.

As a successful candidate, you will:  

Develop and monitor budget activities for the section, ensuring financial efficiency. Oversee staff training, competency, hiring, evaluations, scheduling, and daily workflow management. Manage section policies and procedures, including annual reviews and updates. Supervise order entry, patient flow through phlebotomy services, and billing activities. Represent the department in the evaluation, design, and implementation of new order entry systems (CIS) while troubleshooting customer service issues.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

Bachelors Degree. State of California Phlebotomy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Minimum 5 yrs experience in phlebotomy plus six months in a supervisory capacity.
