Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate accurate and timely invoices for hazardous waste services as the core duty of the Billing Specialist.
  • Review contracts and service agreements to ensure billing accuracy, highlighting the attention to detail required for a Billing Specialist.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and handle client billing inquiries, demonstrating the problem-solving abilities of a Billing Specialist.
  • Maintain up-to-date billing system and customer information, a critical function for a Billing Specialist to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with environmental and compliance departments to ensure that invoicing reflects the scope of services provided, showcasing the interdisciplinary coordination skills of a Billing Specialist.
  • Prepare detailed billing reports and assist with financial audits related to billing activities, underscoring the analytical role of the Billing Specialist.
  • Stay informed about industry-specific regulations affecting billing practices, a necessary ongoing task for a Billing Specialist to maintain compliance.
  • Process adjustments and credits according to company policies and regulatory guidelines, a responsibility managed by the Billing Specialist.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Billing Specialist, ideally within the hazardous waste or environmental services industry.
  • Familiarity with billing and invoicing procedures that comply with both financial and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in billing software and strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and data management skills, critical for the meticulous work of a Billing Specialist.
  • Strong communication skills, necessary for effective client and interdepartmental interactions.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field is preferred for a Billing Specialist.
  • Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in handling financial information.
