Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Quality Manager or general supervision, this position will function as a Quality Supervisor that oversees the daily quality assurance activities of the plant. This position acts as the plant Quality representative in the absence of the Quality Manager. The position supports ISO14001, HACCP, BRC requirements, continuous improvement activities, quality incident investigations, data collection/review/analysis, and any other activities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Job Duties:
- Comply with safety policies and practices while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist with the HFI process to include documentation, production accounting, disposition, rework activities, AQL or sampling, and the HFI areas.
- Perform daily quality records review as the third level of the continuous verification process as required.
- Maintain and develop quality function documentation such as forms, instructions, and training guides, as well as the records for BRC and ISO14001 compliance in accordance with record retention policies & requirements.
- Maintain plant calibration system.
- Attain proficiency and qualification in all quality testing.
- Support external certification initiatives, such as BRC, through the creation, implementation, and verification of procedures and HACCP pre-requisite programs
- Support ISO14001 initiatives through creation, implementation, and verification of procedures and training to meet certification.
- Assist in developing responses and correction implementation to any audit findings.
- Ensure any needed environmental testing is completed and reacted to in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain 5S and a high level of housekeeping standards.
- Support Plant and Corporate projects and be the plant lead for SMA trials, qualifications, and commissioning’s.
- Provide training as required to Quality personnel and others.
- Direct Quality Inspectors/Utilities including scheduling, time and attendance, policy and procedure administration, and documentation in all areas of responsibility.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Associates Degree or equivalent Technical School Degree / Certification or combined experience in quality assurance, process improvement, data analytics, and leadership in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience in understanding and executing quality policies, systems, and procedures.
- Ability to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
- Able to present ideas / issues effectively, actively listen, and work across functional boundaries with the ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience with SPC and SAP preferred
- Experience working in a unionized environment preferred

Work Environment:
This position works in a manufacturing environment and around machinery that produces noise. The noise level in the work environment is very loud. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned personal protective equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold (95 degrees). The atmosphere contains fumes, dust, and odors.
