Summary:

The Logistics-Transportation Intern will focus on projects and company initiatives that are directly related to the Logistics and Delivery department. This individual works closely with their Mentor, Delivery Teams, and our Branch Operations to learn more about our Company, build their transportation knowledge and understand basic delivery, regulatory and operations processes. Our Logistics-Transportation Intern will further develop their skills and knowledge in their field of study . This individual displays behaviors that support our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Job shadowing various roles and departments to learn about Van Meter Partner with Delivery Supervisors, Fleet Specialist and Branch Operations to learn basic electrical industry distribution and transportation related activities Assist with oversight of projects that could include improving route optimization, risk management and regulatory compliance Attend and participate in company and department meetings Achieve a strong competency in all needed databases, tools, systems, and processes Manage communication both internally and externally Perform assigned tasks as directed

Job Requirements/Specifications:

High School Graduate Currently enrolled in a College or University pursuing associate or bachelor’s degree Considered a Leader Excellent ability to learn and implement new software packages quickly Proven people skills Able to commit to a set work schedule Proficient in Microsoft Office software specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work Environment & Physical Demand:
