Job Summary: Reporting to the Project Manager, the Lead Trim Carpenter is responsible for the finishing portion of the project by ensuring the project is on schedule, on budget, and done with the highest level of craftsmanship while maintaining a good relationship with the client.

Responsibilities:

Perform, coordinate and oversee rough carpentry work at the highest level, including but not limited to:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, change orders and other carpentry related documents and do take-offs and layouts
  • Installation of doors and windows
  • Set cabinets and countertops
  • Installation of appliances
  • Installation of interior trim: base, casing, crown, etc.
  • Install stair parts, handrails, routered strings, trim
  • Build custom millwork; bookshelves, multiple piece moldings, mantle surrounds, box beams, wainscot, etc.
  • Install deck, porch and other exterior trim
  • Hang drywall
  • Use a laser or transit level to establish grades and elevations
  • Do simple repairs in painting, staining, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, flooring, drywall and taping

Review plans, specifications and field book prior to pre-con meeting.

Prepare takeoffs and order materials

Communicate with homeowners

Maintain Daily Diary and Jobsite Field Book

Oversee and train carpenters on crew

Coordinate and schedule subcontractors

Schedule inspections

Maintain Daily Diary, Jobsite Field Book and punch list

Accurately record your time daily using the TSheets app

Understand and comply with all Company policies as outlined in the Agape Handbook

Adhere to Agape safety procedures as outlined in the Agape Safety Manual, including but not limited to:

  • Cooperate with all aspects of the Safety Program
  • Attend safety training
  • Report injuries / accidents immediately
  • Make safety suggestions

Position Requirements:

Minimum of five years of experience in both rough and finish carpentry

In depth knowledge of blueprint reading and structural framing codes

Able to do takeoffs and layouts

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical codes

Working knowledge of other trades

Ability to direct and manage others

Carry a complete set of well-maintained hand tools in your vehicle at all times (see list)

Be physically fit and able to perform demanding work on a consistent basis, including but not limited to:

  • Carrying loads up to 75 lbs. by yourself
  • Climbing ladders and scaffolds
  • Being comfortable on roofs and heights
  • Sitting, standing, bending, stretching, squatting, standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Swinging heavy tools such as a 20lb sledge hammer

Have good communication skills and a positive attitude, be a team player

Well organized, adaptable, problem-solver

Have a clean, neat appearance; wear company issued shirts

Be punctual and report to work daily on a consistent basis

Have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license and a clean background check
