Position Overview:
The Sales Engineer will work closely with the AccountManager (formerly Business Development Manager) to develop andmaintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. Thisrole requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonalskills as you will be responsible for understanding customer needsproviding technical consultation and ensuring our manufacturingcapabilities align with their requirements.
Youwill be instrumental in growing the business by engaging directlywith customers both over the phone and in person to build trust andensure longterm partnerships.
KeyResponsibilities:
CustomerEngagement: Initiate and maintain conversations with customers bothcurrent and prospective to understand their needs and proposetechnical solutions.
Build strong trustbasedrelationships through effective communication in person via phoneand email.
Technical Consultation: Serve as theprimary technical resource for customers translating their needsinto feasible machining solutions that meet technical and budgetaryrequirements.
Solution Development: Collaboratewith the production and engineering teams to develop tailoredsolutions for customer projects.
Quoting &Estimations: Provide detailed technical input to support accuratejob estimates including materials timelines and productionresources.
Collaborative Sales Development:Work handinhand with the Account Manager to develop and strengthenrelationships with new and existing customers aligning technicalsolutions with overall business objectives.
Process Improvement: Partner with internal teams to standardize andimprove quoting estimating and production processes focusing onefficiency and customer satisfaction.
IndustryKnowledge: Keep uptodate with CNC machining advancements andindustry trends to ensure that Machine Times offerings remaincompetitive and cuttingedge.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering Mechanical Engineering ora related technical field.
2 years of experience in a technical sales engineering ormanufacturing role with CNC machining experiencepreferred.
Strong understanding ofmanufacturing processes particularly CNC machining andthe ability to explain these processes to both technical andnontechnicalaudiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills withthe ability to hold
meaningful conversationsthat build and strengthen customer relationships.
Proven experience in quoting and estimating jobs in amachining or manufacturingenvironment.
Ability to workcollaboratively with internal teams and the Account Manager toensure seamless customerexperiences.
Proficiency inMicrosoft Office and CRM software; experience withJobBOSS2
and/or QuickBooks Online is aplus.
Strong problemsolving skills and aproactive customerfocused mindset.
PreferredQualifications:
Knowledge ofITAR AS9100 or similar regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems for tracking sales processesand
managing customer data.
Experience working in growing businesses or startups.
